International Kite Festival Gujarat - Ahmedabad
Nello Stato del Gujarat, nel Nord Ovest dell'India, ogni anno in
Gennaio milioni di persone osservano il cielo,per seguire il viaggio del sole
verso nord..č un momento magico, chiamato Nakar Sankranti, in cui Vayn (Dio
del vento) sostiene il volo degli aquiloni.
Il cielo si riempie allora di migliaia di " Patang" (
aquiloni in carta e bambł) che come un'arcobaleno, celebrano la festa di
Uttarayan. In ogni cittą. in ogni piccolo paese, dai tetti dei palazzi
pił belli come da quelli delle pił misere baraccopoli, il popolo del Gujarat,
partecipa ad un'unica gioiosa ,immensa battaglia di aquiloni.
Nel 2005 abbiamo avuto l'onore di ricevere l'invito, dal Governo del
Gujarat, a partecipare a questo evento unico nel suo genere... e finalmente
all'alba dell'8 gennaio 2005 partiamo alla volta dell'India dove, insieme ad
Aquilonisti provenienti da Stati Uniti, Canada, Cile, Colombia, Malesia,
Indonesia, Nuova Zelanda, Australia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Cina, Libano,
Inghilterra, Svezia, Danimarca, Olanda, Germania, Francia e... noi.
Abbiamo condiviso con il popolo indiano un'esperienza che rimarrą per sempre
nei nostri cuori. Ci siamo esibiti in 3 cittą del Gujarat, nella capitale
Ahmedabad, a Patan ed a Surendranagar, accolti con un'entusiasmo incredibile
da migliaia di persone.
Osservando le nostre foto, si possono anche notare come , in ogni angolo delle
cittą, si preparano i cavi per gli aquiloni ( che vengono trattati con
uno speciale impasto a base di colla di riso e
polvere di vetro per renderli particolarmente taglienti per avvincenti
combattimenti nei cieli di tutte le cittą del Gujarat..).

In the state of Gujarat, in the north west of India, milions of people every
year in January look at the sky, to follow the voyage of the sun towards the
North.. it is a magic moment, called Nakar Sankranti,during which Vayn (the
God of wind) protects and supports the flight of kites.
The sky becomes full of thousands of "Patang" (kites made from paper
and bamboo) that like a rainbow celebrate the Uttarayan day. In every
city, town and village, from the top of every building from the most beautiful
buildings to the most modest, the people of Gujarat participate in a common
pleasure, an imense kite battle.
In 2005 we had the honour of receiving an invite from the Govern of
Gujarat, to participate in this unique event...finally the 8th of January
arrived and we are leaving for India where, together came kite flyers from the
USA, Canada, Chilie, Colombia, Malesia, Indonesia, New Zealand, Australia,
Sigapore, Sri Lanka, China,Lebanon, England, Sweeden, Denmark, Holand, Germany,
France together with us. We shared with the Indian people an experience
which will always remain in our hearts. We performed a display in 3
cities in Gujarat, in the capital Ahmedabad, in Patan and in Surendranagar, we
were always received with an incredible enthusiasm by thousands of people.
Looking at our photos, it is possible to see how, in every corner of the city,
they had prepared the guide ropes for the kites (that are treated with a
special paste based on 'rice glue' and glass powder to make them particularly
sharp, to enable them to cut, for gripping battles in the sky in all the
cities of Gujarat.
